One Step To Understanding Salvation

Ξ July 11th, 2008 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Growing In The Lord, New Christians, Video |

Several months ago, I found GodTube. This place is awesome. There are so many good videos that it would be impossible to tell you about all of them. But there was this one video that I ran across during my first trip to GodTube that I posted on this blog some months ago because of how much it moved me. But, with all the newer posts, this one has more or less been buried. I cannot help but believe that if people would see this video they would see Salvation in a different light.

Most videos I watch are nice, good, hilarious or whatever else. They do not move me to tears but this one does. It is an awesome portrayal of what Jesus has done and will do for you if only you will accept Him for Who He is. Please take the time to watch this video..even if you have already seen it before. It moves me in ways I have not been moved before. Each time I watch it, it’s like I had never seen it prior to this time. It is a bit long but it is well worth the time. Enjoy the Lord!

If you have any prayer requests or praise reports, please click on the link in the sidebar. Thank you for visiting today. God bless you richly!

We Are In God’s Hand

Ξ July 6th, 2008 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Music, Video |

Sometimes, it’s pretty tough believing that we are in the hand of God, isn’t it? With all the junk going on in the world right now, there are times when I have thought that I haven’t heard from God and that I had gone off the path. And that was true at times. But there were other times when God was right there, I wasn’t off the path a bit and He was guiding me just as He said He would.

Kris Kristofferson wrote a beautiful song called “Why Me, Lord?” that says everything I always wanted to ask the Lord. Why me? What have I ever done to deserve even one of the blessings from You? God says that we are given a gift of eternal life. It wasn’t earned. It is not deserved. But He loves us so much that He gave it to us but it was paid with a price. Jesus went to the cross to give His life for ours. That answers the question. But the song also asks what I can do to give back to the Lord. And that is what we need to find out today. What can I do to give back to You, Lord? Show me the way.

Bob Cain has gone to be with the Lord but his legacy of songs are still here. Bob Cain singing “Why Me, Lord?” as only Bob Cain can:

Amazing Grace: The Way It Began

Ξ June 27th, 2008 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Music, Video |

Most of us have heard the song “Amazing Grace” sung somewhere, many in our churches. However, do you know the history of it? No? The author of the lyrics is a man named John Newton. Before he became a Christian, he was the captain of a slave ship. He had heard many old Negro spirituals sung below decks. The author of the music is unknown but John heard from the Lord to give us this awesome and amazing song that has lasted through the ages.

I had seen this some time ago but it was brought to my attention again today. I just had to post it. Here to give you a small history lesson and to sing the song from only the black keys of the piano like most Negro spirituals are done is Wintley Phipps. I do hope you enjoy this as much as I have:

This music gives me God’s goosebumps. I love it so much!

Worship: What Is It? Do We Need It?

Ξ May 28th, 2008 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Growing In The Lord, Video |

The subject of worship is something that is sometimes close to me, sometimes elusive. There is one thing I do know, that we need it. We can go into a church and sit there like a bump on a log and wonder how long the sermon is going to take because there is a golf game today. We can sit there thinking all about what we are having for lunch afterwards. “That big business meeting is tomorrow!” And we can sleep. All of these things are possible when heading in to church. Where is your worship?

Worship is an awesome thing. The song leader stands up there and starts the music. We sing the songs while not even hearing the words. We can enjoy without seeking the God we need to serve. Worship is so much more than that. It is a time to tell God that He is special, that you Love Him, that He is your Master. It is a time to give Him all the glory and praise! You can lose yourself in worship, if only you will do it. A time to honor the Almighty.

I found a video on Godtube that pretty much tells what I am trying to say. If you have not yet discovered Godtube, maybe now is a good time to do so. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome! We worship You, Lord!

Video: My Redeemer Lives

Ξ May 13th, 2008 | → Comments Off | ∇ Music, Video |

Tonight I stumbled, literally, into Godtube again. I love Godtube. There are so many wonderful songs and videos there. Awesome. But this particular video caught my eye. I think you will see why. The video is about a Special Olympics event with a father and son competing. It is a type of the relationship we could have with our Father. I think you will like it very much.

The song is by Nicole C. Mullen and the song is My Redeemer Lives!

Video: Carman–Satan Bite The Dust

Ξ December 10th, 2007 | → Comments Off | ∇ Music, Video |

I think I have loved the songs and videos Carman does since I first found out about him. It was several years ago that I learned about his songs from watching a Christian network on television. I actually cannot remember if I saw him on TBN first or not but I got hooked on his songs right away. Since he aims his ministry at the youth and teens, it was not surprising that this particular video would be aimed the same way. But I do not care how old you are, this video is great!!! This is Carman in Satan Bite the Dust.

Video: No More Night by David Phelps

Ξ November 29th, 2007 | → Comments Off | ∇ Music, Video |

There are times when I am unable to post on this blog. Usually it’s because of other obligations. I wish that I could do more than I am.

But today, I have found a fantastic song sung by David Phelps who, if you have never heard him, used to sing with the Gaither Vocal Band. It is most assuredly worth the time to listen to this video. He does an awesome job. This song is annointed!! No More Night sung by David Phelps!

Video: Petra

Ξ November 17th, 2007 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Music, Praise, Video |

I found Petra some years ago when I needed to hear some music that did not necessarily sound like the canned music that you find in some churches. These guys were the ones that showed me that songs sung to God do not always have to sound quiet and sacred. Here they sing “Lord, I Lift Your Name On High!” What a wonderful praise song! Thank You, Lord!

Video: Question On The Rapture

Ξ November 12th, 2007 | → 5 Comments | ∇ End Times, Growing In The Lord, New Christians, Prayer, Video |

There are always questions on the Rapture, aren’t there. We all envision the event differently, I am guessing. Perhaps it will be like the portrayal in Left Behind with the people simply vanishing with clothes in a pile. Maybe it will be like another such movie that had the clothes neatly folded. However, it happens, it will happen.

Now, the thing is that I am not going to tell you WHEN the rapture is coming. Even Jesus did not know that fact. Only God knows this so I will not insult you by telling you times and dates. But, we are told in the scriptures that you can recognize the times and seasons. This we can do and should do as Christians. Guess what? The time is now. We are in the season of the Lord.

Too many things that are happening in the world point to the soon return of Jesus. Okay, is this going to happen like it’s been portrayed? People vanish and accidents happen? Shock takes over the world, then the bad guys? Is it going to be suddenly happening or quietly done? I can guess but that’s all it would be, based on what I have read in the Word of God. Perhaps it would be wise to read the books of Ezekiel, Daniel and the book of Revelation. “Oh, but I can’t understand the book of Revelation. Nothing seems to be real there.” Really.

Well, I can give you a way to deal with that. Please read the other books of God’s Word. By the time you get back to the book of Revelation (NOT revelations with an “s”), you will have a better understanding of how God speaks and it will become somewhat clearer. I say “somewhat” because it is unlikely that we will receive the full picture simply by reading. It will also take prayer and some time visiting with God each day. He is the owner of the Book and can tell you exactly what it says, word for word.

Spending time with the Lord will give you such insight that it will not worry you again about the times and seasons. You will have a need to get excited about His soon return. I used to pray that He not show up too soon because I had not been doing all that I should be for Him. Uh uh. That prayer does not work. We are expected to do our jobs for the Lord. However much you do is based on your faith and how excited you are to help witness. (My level of excitement had not been too high then.)

Anyway, I did promise you a video in the title of this post. So, here is a little something that says The Rapture as the title. Now, I can tell you here that I do not endorse this as THE way the rapture will happen, just a possibility. Check it out and then give me your thoughts and comments. Video: Ernie Haase And The Signature Sound

Ξ November 11th, 2007 | → Comments Off | ∇ Music, Video |

The first time I saw these guys was on a Gaither DVD and I immediately had to hear more from them. They have a sound that is unique and fantastic. The base singer can bring it down LOW!

This particular song is from the DVD that I first saw them. It’s a bit dark but the song comes through just fine. Here are Ernie Hasse and the Signature Sound singing Glory To God In The Highest!

Thank you for listening.
