Urgent Prayer Request

My ex-husband died this morning. From friends, I am assured that he was a Christian for which I am truly thankful. However, my daughter, who lives in the same area that he did, is having to deal with this pretty much on her own. I am unable to be with her for this. Holly, the mother of his second daughter, is not going to be a whole lot of help, if the past is anything to go by. She is, herself, very much upset and having difficulty dealing with this. I should say here that this was not unexpected. He had throat cancer. However, it was not expected for him to go this quickly. They had just given him 6 months but that he could change that to years if he would do certain things. This comes at a time when my daughter was having other problems too.

Please pray for her. She is a strong person but says she is losing it today. And it is likely that she will have to make the decisions concerning everything. Please help her to get through this and to be able to deal with her other problems like with her car.

Father, I just ask you to take care of my daughter, to give her the strength to get through this definitely difficult time, to give her peace concerning it all and to be able to deal with the morass of things that always pop up unexpectedly in such situations. I pray that Holly will be able to be helpful in all this so that my daughter does not have to shoulder this all by herself. Please help her, Holly and Amber to make it through with no negative things happening. Give that little girl the knowledge that though her earthly father is no longer with her, that You are her Father as well. Help her to make it through these troubling times.

We love You, Lord. You are in control here.We praise You for all the blessings You give. We thank You that through this many people will see Your hand involved. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen.

Prayer Requests And Praise

Ξ October 23rd, 2008 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Praise, Prayer, Prayer Requests |

The one thing I have noticed over the last year or so is that there are always more prayers than praise but perhaps that would be because we focus on the prayer needs and not so much on what God does about it. For me, sometimes I have not spent the time I needed to in thanking God for the thing He has done about the problem. We should be putting up more praise than prayer requests not because there is less need but because we have noticed all the answers to prayers that God has given us. Nevertheless, prayer is needed so here are today’s prayer requests and praise reportL

First the praise:

Jess, who was on the prayer list a while back, is doing better in that he has been moved to a facility which is closer to family and friends. There is much that is very private but this man who is dying has been through a lot of difficult times recently at the previous hospital. Now, because he is close to family and friends, they are able to help in a way they could not before his move.

Now for the prayer requests:

Jess still needs prayer concerning his whole situation. He is a terminal cancer patient who is recovering from other medical problems as well. His non-medical problems still must be dealt with as well. Some way needs to be found to do this.

Marisa needs prayer for a court battle concerning the visitation rights for a child. So far, it has all gone toward the other parent. Her son is battling to see his child at all. The mother has been granted custody and discretion concerning his visitation. She refused that. They are now back in court fighting to get joint custody and/or longer visitations. Yesterday, the lawyer for them did not show. The other lawyer “helped” with allowing a few hour visit a couple of days a week. Obviously, Dad does not think that’s enough. The lawyers are meeting today to try and work out a better arrangement.

Kendyll needs prayer. She is a very young child in the middle of a family dispute.

Nancy needs prayer. She has been through a major disaster in her life with injuries. She needs uplifting and peace about many things.

David needs prayer so that he will come to the Lord. Currently, he looks for underhanded ways to solve problems. He needs his heart changed the only way that it can be, through God’s love and grace.

Nancy needs prayer for health issues. She has COPD and is having trouble breathing though she is on medications for it. She uses oxygen while lying down but no other time. She needs to be free of this disabling disease.

Jennifer needs prayer due to a blockage in her kidneys. She is the loving mother of 3 children and has a wonderful husband who is by her side through all this. Please pray for the doctors to see the reason for the blockage and for it to be gone!

All those who are currently in hospice care so that they can know the Lord if they do not, get help with their care, have God touch them in a way that they will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was the Lord.

Father, we lay before you these people who are having so much trouble and pain in their lives. We pray that they are blessed beyond measure by You and with Your healing hands upon them, they shall surely know that it was You that touched their lives! We thank You, Lord!! You are awesome! In the mightly name of Jesus, our Savior! Amen.

Thank God I’m An American

Ξ July 5th, 2008 | → Comments Off | ∇ Christian Living, Growing In The Lord, Praise |

I wanted to publicly thank my Lord for the fact that I am an American. That does not mean that I am slamming any other place in the world. It simply means that God put me here, right now in the day and hour and I thank God for that. I think that it’s vitally important that we spend some time each day thanking God for those things that He has provided to us. In that area, I know that I fall very short. So, today, the day after the 4th of July, when all eyes are on the fireworks and giving thanks for the country we live in, I now give thanks for all that my Lord has given to me.

No, I do not intend to put the list here. Frankly, at this point you should be inserting your own list of thanks. I know that we spend more time wanting to thank God on Thanksgiving but we should be thanking Him each and every day. We should be giving Him all of our attention at some point in the day so that He can give us the boost we need to get past all the nasty things in the world.

So, take just a bit of time today, tomorrow and each day from now on to stop and talk to the Lord about those things that bother you, the things that you need to get a handle on, things that you worry about. Give it all to Him. He wants you to do that so that He can handle it for you. Take the time to get to know your Lord. He’s waiting right where you stopped talking to Him. He’s right where you left Him all those years ago.

Yes, I thank God I am an American but I also thank God that I am a Christian, a saved one, one who has asked Jesus to come into her life and be so blessed! I am so honored and blessed! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for going to the cross in my place! I am so blessed that I do not have to be without You! Praise God!

Prayer Requests And A Praise Report

Ξ June 9th, 2008 | → Comments Off | ∇ Praise, Prayer, Prayer Requests |

The newest prayer and praise are as follows:

Praise!
Tom-out of the hospital feeling much better. Coming to light, a possible reason for almost all of the health problems to date that must be looked into.

Prayer requests:
1) Charley-who is in the hospital. Please pray for him with multiple problems. He is overweight and a normally easy procedure could be life threatening to him is needed. Please pray!!

2) Continuing prayer for Donna with cancer of vocal cords and lungs. Coming home from hospital soon.

3) Fred-continuing prayer for him. He appears to be giving up, falling back on old ways, has diagnosis that says he has no hope of recovery though the doctor would not show up to tell him that. He is very functional and about to be released to his home when one can be found. Please pray for him to be healed and his spirit hear God’s Word on the subject. Please also pray for him to have a home to go to instead of needing a nursing home.

4) A family who appears to be constantly attacked with health and financial problems, one after another with little relief.

5) A newborn who has an infection. Please pray for her!

Father, we pray for these health needs for your children. We know that You said that “by His stripes we are healed” and “with His stripes we were healed”. We agree with that for all of these folks and others that we are also praying for but not listed here. Jesus, we love You and thank You for being our Savior and Lord. We thank You for dying on the cross for us so that we do not have to have these problems! We thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Prayer Works! I Know It Does

Ξ June 1st, 2008 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Praise, Prayer |

It has been a crazy couple of weeks and so I did not get on here to post like I wanted to do. My husband was in the hospital last week for a heart cath. This week, he went back to the hospital with chest pains. Both things could have been difficult to disastrous but they were not. We believe that because of our prayer cover, everything came out okay.

There are people that will now say that it was likely to do that anyway. Perhaps. But we live with the belief that God is watching over us. With that in mind, we pray about our circumstance because we have all been there when we did not do so. See, I called some folks in another state who are prayer warriors. They, in turn, call others. We put these things on the website so that others can pray. And someone called a television ministry for prayer as well. With that network of prayer, how could we not see good things happening?

Jesus Himself went off to pray. If He did this, shouldn’t we do likewise? But often, we find our lives taking over and not allowing the time to pray. Often, we find that the only time we pray these days is when we eat…if then. Sometimes, the reason we cannot pray or don’t is because we have no idea what to pray about. God gave us a solution to that:

(Rom 8:26) Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The Holy Spirit will help us when we need to pray but cannot because we do not know what to pray. Many of those who prayed for my husband had no idea why or what they were praying about. All they knew was that someone needed the prayer. We have discovered that people we do not know are praying for us. Sometimes, it’s because they read our blog posts. Sometimes it was because of the ministry that was called. Other times, it is because our friends and family tell others and they tell someone else. The prayer network is awesome and all led by God, not people. Isn’t that fantastic? It means that people are not getting the credit for this. Awesome!!

So, if you should find yourself in need of prayer, call someone. Get them praying about your situation. If you do not have anyone to call, please feel free to let me know your prayer needs and I will post them here on this blog. We are here to serve!

Additional Prayer Requests-One Urgent

Ξ May 23rd, 2008 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Praise, Prayer Requests |

Once again, we have a prayer request that is quite urgent. Please pray:

Gene (Fred)- in the hospital. With a tube in throat, lost a lot of weight, needing to be fed in tube, refusing that.

UPDATE for Gene…has throat and lung cancer and is expected to live only seven months. Will likely be on hospice care after leaving the hospital. Please pray for his daughters as well who are having a rough time with it.

One praise report:

Ed- at home now. Had heart cath. Small blockage in front of heart. Put in stent. Praise that he came through the whole thing just fine!!

Father, we pray for Gene’s healing. We ask that You place Your amazing hand upon him. Please send someone to tell him about Jesus. Please give him the opportunity to see You and walk with You. Father, thank You for the good outcome for Ed. We praise You and honor You. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Video: Petra

Ξ November 17th, 2007 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Music, Praise, Video |

I found Petra some years ago when I needed to hear some music that did not necessarily sound like the canned music that you find in some churches. These guys were the ones that showed me that songs sung to God do not always have to sound quiet and sacred. Here they sing “Lord, I Lift Your Name On High!” What a wonderful praise song! Thank You, Lord!

Notice To The Commenters That Leave Nasty Comments!!

Ξ November 3rd, 2007 | → Comments Off | ∇ Family, Praise, Prayer |

To those of you who are leaving nasty and uncalled for comments on my posts, especially the one concerning the little 5 year old girl, I am pleased to say that I will delete each and every one of them when they come in. They are in moderation so they will not see the light of day on this blog.

However, the enemy is trying to discourage me from writing such posts. The problem he has is that I see that God is working here and will not stop posting prayer requests, ever. And in order to fight this, I will be posting praises and blessings each and every time I receive a nasty or inappropriate comment.

Isn’t it sad that when we want to pray for a little, very sick 5 year old girl who has done nothing to deserve any of this, the bad comments, the nasty words that come from the pit of hell, the distasteful things that people can say so easily…those people are hurting. They do not know how to express themselves in loving terms so they lash out at the helpless ones.

Remember, I am going to put up praises and blessings when I receive anymore of those hate filled comments. And to start it off, here goes:

I praise my Lord Jesus for His awesome Grace and Mercy, for having died on the cross for even me. I thank You, Father, for giving me each breath I take, for giving me the incredible family I have, for helping me through another day. Thank You, Lord!!!!
